Who Are We

We are a movement of more than 330 congregations committed to serving together with the vision of impacting our communities for Jesus Christ. This vision is expressed in a myriad of ways in local, state, national and international contexts.

More than 50,000 people make up our family across the state and the nation's capital and you would be very welcome to share with them at one of our churches.

"I have come that you may have life, better than you can dream or imagine." John 10:10

These are the powerful words of Jesus, which hold so much relevance for life today, in a world of uncertainty and insecurity, where so many people long for hope and meaning.

Across NSW & ACT every week, Baptist Churches will actively share this "Good News of Jesus" in hundreds of different settings and in hundreds of different ways, by word and deed. The aim will be the same: to point people to the incredible difference a relationship with Jesus can bring to life!

This life-changing hope of Jesus will be celebrated this weekend by more than 50,000 people in Baptist Churches across the State and nation's capital.

This website introduces you to the Baptist family of churches in NSW & ACT, a movement of more than 330 congregations, who share together with a common commitment to worship, evangelism, fellowship, teaching and compassion.  Our commitment to these ministries is expressed in a myriad of ways at a congregational and denominational level.

Our family of churches is served by a committed & diverse ministry team based in Sydney and other parts of the State & ACT.

The Baptist Ministry Centre in Epping is the base of our Ministry, Support & Development (MSD) and Administration teams. MSD staff are involved in church health and strengthening pastoral development, evangelism, church planting, ethnic, children's, youth and young adult ministries. Administrative support includes legal, financial, property and ministry resource services.

Based next to Macquarie University in Marsfield, more than 500 students are engaged in full-time and part-time study at Morling College. With a highly reputable faculty and a strong commitment to missional and practical studies, Morling continues to train and develop leaders for the Church at home and abroad.

Community service is also vital to our mission. Baptist Community Services (BCS) is one of the leading aged-care providers in Australia and HopeStreet (formerly Baptist Inner City Ministries) is at the coalface among the marginalised in the inner city of Sydney.

Global Interaction NSW & ACT(formerly ABMS) provides an international mission focus for our family of churches. Global Interaction supports missionaries and tent-makers serving among a diverse range of people-groups across the globe.

In all these shared ministries and in our congregations across the State, the Baptist Churches of NSW & ACT is committed to demonstrating and declaring the love of Jesus.

We welcome you to our website and invite you to explore the site and find out more about who we are, what we stand for and what we are seeking to do as a movement of churches.
